What if that doesn't work, no matter how strict or careful we are about what we eat and how we are increasing our movement? MC shares the studies that were compared, looking at exercise and calorie restriction, semaglutide use, and trizepatide after 4 years of maintenance. The two studies using weight loss drugs were well above the outcome for the exercise and diet study. Exercise and Diet maintained an approximate 5% weight loss, while semaglutide was about 10% and trizepatide was about 25%. The studies with trizepatide showed success close to what is seen with long-term maintenance after bariatric surgery. MC shares how she was convinced she needed discipline with calorie restriction and exercise but was never successful enough to change her health.
