I realized that it must be water retention due to salt. When I cook I use very little salt. However most of my friends use a LOT of salt. A lot of the food they gave me was processed food and manufacturers use a LOT of salt. Eating other people's food or processed food really throws off my scales. If you eat out or at your friends house don't be surprised if you gain unexplained weight. Keep your salt intake as consistent as possible, otherwise your bathroom scale will be all over the place and you will not be able to get consistent readings about your weight loss progress. Diet enemy #2 is lightheadedness. You bend over and when you rise you feel dizzy and lightheaded. This is normal and not an excuse to stop dieting. As you lose weight you are able to rise slightly faster. It takes time(a few of months if you are constantly losing weight) for your equilibrium system to adjust. Expect that when you bend over and back up you will get a head rush. Knowing it will happen will eliminate its ability to surprise you. If you get a head rush too often it may be a good idea to lose weight at a slower pace. I just ignored the head rushes and maxed out my weight loss . Just be careful. When you lose weight your body is no longer the same. Your heart, nerves, equilibrium system, calorie requirements, etc, etc all have to readjust. The weight loss plateau is a time of readjustment. The body says "Stop Right There! no more weight loss for now. I have to readjust before I will allow you to lose more weight." When the body has readjusted it will once again be happy to shed any excess blubber.
