Your Portion Sizes Are Whack More than likely, your portion sizes are much larger than they need to be. Next time you’re having cereal, measure the actual portion size listed on the nutrition label. I’ll bet your regular portion size of cereal, and the sugary dairy milk, is probably 2-3 times the recommended serving size on the label. If this is the case, it may make sense for you to dust off the food scale, and go back to the school of calorie counting for just 3-4 weeks, as a refresher. #2. You’re Drinking Your Calories Most of the time drinking your calories is a nasty habit, especially when those calories are nothing more than sugar. This overconsumption of sugar triggers your hunger and cravings even more. Focus only on hydrating with zero calorie natural drinks, such as water, tea, and coffee. A lot of the artificially sweetened zero calorie “diet” drinks have been shown to spike hunger. #3. You’re Eating Fattening “Health” Foods Just because a food label on the package says any of the following terms, it doesn’t mean it’s necessarily healthy: - Healthy - Natural - Low fat - Low sugar - High in fiber - High in protein Usually these processed and refined “health” foods are filled with hunger inducing chemicals and processed sugar.
