Research is limited, but a 2021 study by Dr. Russo suggests CHS could result from a gene-environment interaction triggered by high THC levels in genetically predisposed individuals. Contamination of cannabis plants by hop latent viroid is another possible factor. Understanding CHS requires deeper investigation beyond current assumptions.
