I’ll be totally honest here — I think my biggest hesitation in taking it was one many women can relate to. I had heard that it can cause bloating in women - which wasn’t something I wanted to deal with while filming a new program. SO! After we wrapped our summer workout program last month (🤫), I decided to try it for 30 days and see how I felt. Here’s what I personally noticed after a month: ✅Improved recovery time after workouts ✅Feeling stronger/like I had more energy during my workouts ✅Reduced brain fog ✅Feeling more rested after sleep/like I got better quality sleep ABOUT THE BLOATING: Personally I noticed minimal additional “water weight” or bloating for the first 2 weeks on creatine; then things seemed to level out back to normal. The dietitians I talked to also recommended just talking 5 grams daily rather than following a “loading phase” protocol to minimize bloating and I think that worked well! 👇I WANT TO KNOW: what other questions do you have about creatine? **Note, these statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. So it can be done we can lose weight and maintain a reasonably low body fat level without starving ourselves. And today we are going to talk about how to do this. Stop Feeling Hungry All The Time And Lose Fat Every Week! To lose weight we need to reduce the amount of calories we are taking in, but it is not this reduction in calories directly that makes us hungry. It is the reduction in nutrients that makes us hungry. Knowing this gives us a two fold advantage. One it makes us aware that even though we have reduced the amount of calories we are taking in we still need to supply our bodies with the nutrition it needs. And two these nutrients react with our body to signal certain hormones that help us feel full. The best ways we can make sure we are not denying ourselves of the nutrition our bodies need is first and foremost not cut our calories too extreme and a close second would be whole food eating. Whole natural foods are nutritionally dense and typically low calorie. That doesn’t mean we can’t treat ourselves occasionally, but eating a diet containing processed foods, refined carbohydrates and sugars supplies us with empty calories that does nothing fill our nutritional needs. Two nutrients that are well known to help us feel full are protein and fibre. Particularly viscous fibre. Protein is important when we are trying to lose weight as it helps us to maintain our lean muscle mass so we lose body fat and not our hard earned muscle. But it also helps us feel full. They believe it does this from a byproduct of digested protein called phenylalanine (feh nuh luh laa neen) this triggers a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 and when this hormone is high it signals to our body we are full and to stop eating. It doesn’t take a lot of protein per meal to get this satiating effect I’ll leave a link at the bottom of the description to a meta analysis where they came to the conclusion we only need 25 to 30 grams of protein per meal to get that full feeling. Fibre rich foods contain a lot of important nutrients like vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. All fibre is good for us and essential. But when it comes to helping us feel full viscous fibre which is a soluble fibre has the edge and it helps us feel full in a lot of different ways. Viscous fibre mixes with water to form a gel like substance in our stomach that slows the release of digested food helping us feel fuller longer. This in turn affects our hormones most notably insulin which also gets released at a much slower rate again helping us feel full. Foods that are high in viscous fibre are foods like oatmeal, beans, flaxseed, sweet potato, asparagus and oranges. The daily recommendation for fibre is 30 grams for men and 25 for women. Because viscous fibre absorbs water, you will need to increase your water intake as well. Now I did a video on water and it’s importance when it comes to losing weight and building muscle. When we take drink typically we are thinking of satisfying our thirst not our hunger which is why it is important to avoid drinking our calories as these will not register as food leaving us still feeling hungry. Mindfulness plays a big part in feelings of hunger. Not only when we are sitting down at the table to eat and we should take the time to stop what we are doing to eat. As this will allow us to be fully aware of what we have eaten and to properly chew our food allowing more time for the fullness signal to reach our brain. When we plan and prepare our food for the week all at once, we spend less overall time thinking about food. Instead of always looking in the fridge or pantry to figure out what we want to eat. We just grab what we planned to eat and move on with our day. Sleep can not be underestimated when it comes to hunger studies have shown hunger can increase by 24% when the test subjects didn’t get enough sleep. I’m a guy who needs his 8 hours a night but it is worth noting anyone who gets under 6 hours a night is considered sleep deprived and if we are sleep deprived. And you don't want to waste your time on things that don't work so you can get this done as fast as possible. Unfortunately there are a lot of qick fixes all over the internet that just don't deliver the results they promise. So today I want to give you 9 tips to lose that belly fat based on science. These are steps that scientists recommend you take so you can reduce your belly fat over time. The first step is to concentrate on burning fat from your whole body rather than just your belly. I know it may sound counter intuitive, but this is the best way to burn belly fat. Most studies have completely debunked spot reduction or target fat burning. One study looked at the effectiveness of losing fat from one of your arms. 104 participants were required to take part in a weight training program designed to target their non dominant arm. After 12 weeks researchers came to the conclusion that even though participants did lose some fat they lost fat from their whole body not just the trained arm. Similar studies like this were performed to test if you can target the abdominal region. 40 Overweight and Obese participants stuck to an abs specific weight training routine for 12 weeks, but experienced no extra fat loss from their belly when compared to dieting alone. Even though there are a few studies that have reported results that showed that you can target fat burn in certain situations, this was usually attributed to either flaws in the study or due to the fact that a very small amount of people were studied. Overall the majority of the scientific evidences is heavily stacked against this idea of spot reduction. So get the idea of target fat burning and spot reduction out of your head. Now with that said that doesn't mean that we can't burn belly fat with things like weight training. It just means we can't isolate and burn only belly without also burning the fat from other areas of the body. So that brings me right to the next step that science recommends we take to burn belly fat and keep it off over time. Weight training. There are many studies comparing weight training to cardio for fat loss. And most studies show that cardio will burn more calories and more fat on a minute by minute basis when compared with weight training. Unfortunately most of theses studies usually last for a couple weeks or months at the most. The participants and the changes to their bodies aren't observed for a very long period of time. However one study known as the health professionals follow up study was done over a 12 year period between 1996 and 2008. This study also involved a huge amount of participants. Over 10,500 men over 40 years old took part and they were each divided into one of four groups. Each group either increased the amount of time spent either weight... A New Chapter in Life
Vanessa Bryant’s journey of weight loss and healing from the devastation of losing her husband, basketball legend Kobe Bryant, and their daughter, Gianna, is not merely a physical transformation; it represents a profound emotional and psychological rebirth. Grief can express itself in myriad ways, and for Vanessa, one of those manifestations was her health and well-being. Following the tragic helicopter crash in January 2020 that claimed the lives of her loved ones, Vanessa faced an uphill battle, battling sorrow and finding a way to reclaim her life. The death of Kobe and Gianna was not just a personal loss; it created a shift in Vanessa’s identity and priorities. As she began to navigate her new reality as a single mother to her other daughters while grappling with overwhelming grief, she recognized the importance of focusing on her health as a form of self-care. This article explores her inspiring journey in detail, shining a light on the factors that motivated her to embark on a weight loss journey and the various strategies she utilized to achieve her goals.
Initially, Vanessa was not focused on weight loss; rather, she sought coping mechanisms for her grief. However, as the months passed, she realized that caring for herself was essential to ensure she could be present for her daughters. The emotional turmoil she experienced led to changes in her habits and lifestyle that would eventually play a crucial role in her 50-pound weight loss journey. Vanessa began to explore different aspects of wellness, including nutrition, exercise, mental health, and mindfulness. It became evident to her that a holistic approach was necessary for her healing process, and thus she commenced on designing a comprehensive plan that included not just physical transformation but emotional resilience as well.
In the past, Vanessa had worked alongside Kobe in various charitable endeavors, and he had often encouraged her to pursue her passions. Motivated by his support and vision, she started to prioritize her health and well-being not only for herself but for her daughters who depended on her strength. This journey of weight loss and healing took time, with setbacks and triumphs, and reflected her commitment to building a positive legacy for her family. As she unveiled her process to the world, Vanessa inadvertently became a source of inspiration for many others grappling with similar challenges, showing that it is possible to transform pain into power through determination, effort, and love.
A Commitment to Health
Vanessa realized that embarking on a weight loss journey necessitated a serious commitment to her health and well-being. This realization came as she recognized the impact her physical state had on her emotional state. Struggling not just with the loss but with self-image issues that often stem from grief, Vanessa decided it was time to take control. She researched various nutrition strategies, seeking a sustainable approach rather than a quick-fix solution. Understanding the importance of nourishing her body and mind, she aimed to create a balanced lifestyle that would foster long-term wellness.
Nutrition became her foundation. Vanessa began cooking more at home and experimenting with new recipes that focused on whole foods, eliminating processed foods that she had previously relied on during her busier days. She sought out meals rich in nutrients, filled with fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. By prioritizing what she consumed, she not only aimed at losing weight but also improving her energy levels and overall mood. Vanessa spent time educating herself on portion control and the science behind food choices, transforming her kitchen into a space of healing rather than mindless eating.
Physical exercise also played a crucial role in her transformative journey. Vanessa joined fitness classes, reintroduced herself to yoga, and incorporated regular outdoor activities to boost her physical health and mental well-being. Exercise served as a powerful outlet for her emotions, allowing her to channel her feelings of grief into something positive. It became a ritual rather than a chore, helping her forge a deeper connection with herself and instilling resilience in her life. Every step she took and every drop of sweat became emblematic of her refusal to succumb to sadness, reinforcing the idea that healing is a journey deserving of effort and dedication.
The Influence of Support Networks
Throughout her weight loss journey, Vanessa was conscious of the paramount importance of having a strong support network. She turned to close friends and family who provided emotional support, practical advice, and accountability. This intervention helped her remain focused and committed, especially during challenging moments when motivation waned. Their understanding demeanor and encouragement became crucial lifelines as Vanessa navigated through the stormy waters of grief while also pursuing her goal to heal.
Social media also played an interesting role in Vanessa’s journey. By sharing snippets of her progress, she was met with an outpouring of encouragement and love from fans and followers, turning her weight loss journey into a collective experience. Their affirmations fueled her motivation, reminding her that her healing journey resonated beyond her immediate circle. The realization that others were inspired by her journey sparked further determination in her, highlighting the power of community in moments of personal transformation.
In addition to emotional support, Vanessa explored professional help to guide her through her grief and weight loss. Consulting with nutritionists, personal trainers, and therapists provided her with tailored strategies, preventing feelings of isolation. This professional involvement equipped her with the tools necessary to succeed, offering insightful perspectives that she could not have attained alone. The blend of personal and professional support ultimately fostered resilience, allowing Vanessa to confront the myriad of issues impacting her health while staying committed to her goals.
Moments of Resilience and Discovery
Resilience became a defining theme of Vanessa’s journey, revealed through her experiences of both setbacks and progress. Each stride toward her weight loss goal required immense effort and unwavering dedication. Vanessa encountered days when her emotional state made it difficult to maintain focus, leading her to reach for comfort foods rather than nutritional options. However, she learned that rather than viewing these moments as failures, they were opportunities for growth. Managing her emotions became just as integral as the actual weight loss process itself, emphasizing that healing does not happen in a linear fashion.
As her journey progressed, Vanessa began to discover new sides of herself. She explored activities outside of her conventional routines, learning to embrace the joy of movement in various forms. Whether it was dancing, hiking, or simply taking long walks with her daughters, she discovered that exercise could be enjoyable rather than purely goal-driven, fostering a sense of adventure and joy in her life. This exploration allowed her to celebrate small victories that added up over time and fueled her journey of self-discovery.
Moreover, her newfound commitment to health extended to her emotional and spiritual realms. Vanessa integrated practices such as meditation and mindfulness into her daily routine, allowing her moments of stillness to reflect, breathe, and grieve in a healthy manner. This transformative process offered her an avenue to reconcile her emotions, contributing to a more substantial healing experience. Recognizing the importance of holistic healing, Vanessa further deepened her understanding of self-love as a necessary precursor to true transformation.
Inspiration for Others
Vanessa’s journey has long since transcended her personal victory; it has become a beacon of hope and inspiration for countless others facing similar challenges. Her resilience in the face of unprecedented loss and her efforts to share her story openly encourage those grappling with grief, weight struggles, or mental health challenges to recognize that they are not alone. By embracing vulnerability and strength simultaneously, Vanessa has paved a path for real connections, solidarity, and understanding among those on their own journeys of healing.
Furthermore, the approach Vanessa adopted outlines a roadmap for those looking for holistic solutions to personal struggles. Emphasizing balance in life, she stresses that it is essential to integrate physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness; they are all interconnected facets of a healthy lifestyle. Her story reinforces the belief that healing is not merely about outcomes or visible changes, but about nurturing oneself through every phase—especially the painful ones.
Vanessa has also utilized her heightened platform to advocate for wellness and body positivity, emphasizing that the journey is unique to each individual. Rather than adhering to societal beauty standards, she celebrates the smaller milestones that are often overshadowed. By advocating for a diverse representation of healing journeys, she encourages others to seek authentic paths that resonate with their values. Through her continued efforts, Vanessa remains a powerful voice in the realm of mental health, holistic wellness, and the pursuit of happiness after loss.
