Fixing Your METABOLISM is how you make losing weight and keeping it off EASY. My maintenance calories are 3200, meaning I need to eat that much on a daily basis to maintain my weight. Any less, and I start to lose weight and body fat. I've been able to increase my maintenance calories to such a high number by following a process known as Reverse Dieting. This is done by finding your maintenance calories (track your food for a week or two, and as long as the scale isn't moving much, this is proably around your maintenance), then slowly adding calories, about 100-300 extra at a time. The goal is to not see much weight gain at all or only a small amount (no more than about 0.5 lbs per week generally). Keep slowly adding calories over a few weeks and months until you get to the point where you feel like it's hard to eat much more, now you're ready to enter a fat loss phase. However, you HAVE to pair this with a good strength training program. Don't try to do a bunch of cardio and think about 'burning it off', think about BUILDING muscle and your metabolism. Muscle is the most metabolically active tissue in the body and requires lots of calories to fuel it. The extra calories from your diet will be partioned to building muscle and not fat if done correctly. Once you drop your calories, the fat should come falling off since your metabolism has adjusted, making it easy to lose and sustain the weight loss now that your maintencance calories have increased so much. #reversediet #metabolism Interested in online personal training? Researchers found patients with type 2 diabetes taking GLP-1s had a greater risk for gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, compared to those taking another medication. The researchers tracked more than 24,700 patients who were newly prescribed GLP-1 drugs and compared their health to about 89,000 patients given SGLT-2 inhibitors (sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors). Those taking GLP-1 drugs were 27% more likely to develop GERD and 55% more likely to have GERD complications, according to the results. The risk for serious GERD-related complications was higher among smokers, people with obesity and folks with existing stomach problems.
