Dr Mindy Pelz is a nutrition expert, a pioneer on the subject of women’s health & hormones, and the author of Fast Like A Girl and The Menopause Reset: Get Rid of Your Symptoms and Feel Like Your Younger Self Again. Mindy’s aim is to empower women by explaining the biological changes that take place each month and throughout a woman’s life. She believes that, armed with that knowledge, they can improve their health, happiness and relationships. But this conversation is just as relevant for men. We start off discussing whether weight gain is inevitable as we age. Is it our fate – and particularly a woman’s fate – to gain weight once she hits 40? It can be, she tells me, but only if women don’t know how to harness their hormones to prevent it. She explains how declining oestrogen levels can make women insulin resistant - which may be one the reasons why the diet and lifestyle that worked for them in their 20s and 30s, no longer does once they hit 40. At the same time, declining levels of progesterone, the calming hormone, can result in lower-quality sleep, more perceived stress and increased levels of the stress hormone cortisol - which, in and of itself, will contribute to an increase in belly fat. It makes so much sense when Mindy explains it, but unfortunately, this information is still not widely known. We cover so many different topics, including: • How to adjust when and what you eat during different phases of your cycle. • The importance of gut health when thinking about hormonal health. • Why women often handle stress in a different way to men. • The impact that hormonal changes can have on brain function. • The practical steps we can take to improve our sleep. • The importance of lifestyle changes irrespective of whether a woman chooses to have HRT or not. • The best times in a woman’s cycle to resolve conflict and deal with relationship issues. This episode is jam-packed with insightful information and practical take-homes. I hope you enjoy listening. #feelbetterlivemore ----- Show notes available at: https://drchatterjee.com/392 Website https://drmindypelz.com/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/dr.mindypelz/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/drmindypelz YouTube @DrMindyPelz Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-resetter-podcast/id1503897906 The Menopause Reset: Get Rid of Your Symptoms and Feel Like Your Younger Self Again https://amzn.to/3ygg73e Fast Like a Girl: A Woman’s Guide to Using the Healing Power of Fasting to Burn Fat, Boost Energy, and Balance Hormones https://amzn.to/3F44hwH The Reset Factor: 45 Days to Transforming Your Health by Repairing Your Gut https://amzn.to/3ybHsDD #feelbetterlivemore #feelbetterlivemorepodcast ------- Sign up to my new newsletter - Friday Five https://drchatterjee.com/fridayfive Order Happy Mind Happy Life. Turning Aspirin Into A Insane Weight Loss Drug

💊 Are GLP-1 Drugs Beneficial or Challenging? Let’s Uncover the Truth! 💊 GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, and Mounjaro have gained massive attention for weight loss and diabetes management—but are they truly beneficial, or do they come with hidden challenges? 🤔 In this episode of Healthy by George, we break down: ✅ How GLP-1 drugs work in the body 🧬 ✅ The benefits for weight loss and blood sugar control 🏥 ✅ Potential side effects and long-term concerns ⚠️ ✅ Who should (and shouldn’t) consider using them ❓ While these medications have transformed many lives, there’s more to the story than just weight loss. Understanding the pros and cons is key to making informed health decisions! 💡 💬 Have you or someone you know used GLP-1 drugs? Share your experiences in the comments! Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and share to help others stay informed. A journal article was recently published looking at all the available weight loss drugs—mounjaro, wegovy, zepbound, and Ozempic—and new triple G inhibitors being researched. What are we learning? MC shares that these drugs not only help with weight loss, but we are learning they are helpful in other chronic conditions: Substance use disorders Suicidal ideation and schizophrenia Alzheimer's disease and dementia Clotting disorders and infections Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and liver diseases Chronic obstructive sleep apnea Clearly, these medications are working on a brain-gut association that appears to help in ways that can help reduce individuals from progressing and deteriorating? The question is, why are the drug companies making access to these drugs a challenge by charging such high prices? Plus, physicians and patients are becoming creative with "off-label" use by microdosing. MC shares that she didn't follow the typical aggressive dosing that the research studies did; she stayed on a low dose until she was no longer losing weight on the current dose. MC was on the lowest dose of mounjaro for almost 6 months, losing a small amount each month until it plateaued. This has been MCs approach for each dose of the drug. To stay on that dose until she is no longer getting any benefit. MC believes this has helped her stay on the drug despite some side effects and work with her doctor on the side effects so that they became less and less as time progressed. Now, individuals and physicians use microdosing with GLP1 drugs available from compound pharmacies. Some individuals report many benefits unrelated to obesity but to menopause and its symptoms, but let's do this with the help of our medical professionals. Danger can be possible due to the inability to maintain sterilization when we are reusing drugs in a vial multiple times. Each time we stick the needle into the vial, there is a potential for contamination. Plus, we don't know the long-term problems that could be present from taking microdoses because research has not been done. No matter what your choice is, now is the time to investigate the various ways to help yourself with obesity and other chronic conditions and those reputable online companies or your local doctor to make choices for your health when it comes to using these drugs. MC checks in monthly with her coach and then every quarter with a nutritionist. She also plans to perform a scan to determine her fat-to-muscle ratio and a test to help her understand her metabolism. Be well, my friends. We have this one precious life; let's live it intentionally. 🌿💚 📌 Disclaimer: The views shared here are solely for education and entertainment. Beware of a Lesley Stahl obesity and weight loss scam on Facebook and Instagram that improperly uses the correspondent's image and likeness and the name of "60 Minutes" completely without permission to push keto gummies products along with keywords including Fatima Cody Stanford, Caroline Apovian, Maya Cohen, Nicole Sams, and ACV For Health Keto Gummies. Lesley Stahl and "60 Minutes" never endorsed any such supposed weight loss products for obesity that have to do with keto gummies. These scams are likely coming from China and Japan, but it's hard to tell. Lesley Stahl has nothing to do with any of this. If you fell for this Lesley Stahl obesity and weight loss keto gummies scam that said "it's pricey, but it works," and you made a purchase of these products, watch out for recurring charges as you likely unknowingly signed up for a subscription that means you'll get hit for monthly charges of hundreds of dollars. Call your credit card company and tell them you've been scammed and that you do not want to get charged again. I hope this video was helpful. http://www.DoctorsToTrust.com presents episode 446 | InsulinIQ.com Metabolic Classroom with Matt Mohi, Carlie Wendel, featuring Lindsay Venn Question: Pre-meal glucose moderators: which is better, apple cider vinegar or berberine? -if severely insulin resistant, berberine will be very, very helpful -if insulin sensitive, to moderate glucose to better extent, then: apple cider vinegar Both are beneficial Neither are harmful Okay to do both -berberine should improve insulin sensitivity at the cell -like metformin, berberine is a powerful insulin resistant assist supplement I use apple cider vinegar for heartburn, if you are coming off of PPI (proton pump inhibitor) Question: How best to utilize GLP-1 agonists (like Ozempic) to help with insulin resistance reversal? -these slow gastric emptying -help with insulin production to lower blood sugar (this shouldn't be what we are aiming for with insulin-lowering diets because we should be able to make more insulin) "In my opinion, these help make beta cells work more efficiently" -which leads to weight loss -helps suppress appetite; makes fasting easier -does not directly improve insulin resistance, but due to fasting that will help -okay to include berberine -try to minimize dose of Ozempic ||||||||||||||||||| doctorstotrust.com insuliniq.com Original Youtube: https://youtu.be/BIfmr4L5iro This site will never use corruptible, epidemiological survey research.
